Kylee's Day at the Lake

Yesterday we took Kylee to Palisade. I've been trying to convince Andy to go there for years, and he never would. Now he realizes it's fun and wants to go camp for a few days.

Any child who wants to go in a canoe has to wear a floatation device of some sort. Kylee was't too happy about that.

She finally reconciled herself to wearing the arm floaties. When we got to the middle of the lake she realized they make pretty nice pillows, and she took a short nap.

She wasn't a big fan of the ice cold water!!

After our trip in the canoe, Kylee decided it was time to put dad down for a nap. She promised to lay by him on the blanket until he fell asleep.

She was a bit perplexed about why dad slept for so long.

Eventually Andy woke up and decided to practice his Gondolier skills.

On the way home we visited great-grandma Blanche in Mt. Pleasant. Kylee jabbered the whole time, and grandma thought she was telling her about heaven.

This is Kylee's new friend Kenny. She met him at great-grandma's nursing home. He was a really friendly guy!

So yesterday Kylee got into a fight with Mr. Bear in her crib. She was sure he was trying to attack her, so she felt the need to do the only thing she knows -- lick him to death. In the midst of their wrestling, Kylee learned how to roll over. She's been trying to go from back to front for a couple of weeks now, but has never even attempted to go front to back, because she loves her tummy. But apparently a fight with Mr. Bear was just the motivation she needed. Now she's quite a professional at it.

Family Photos

Dustin took some family photos for us a couple of weeks ago when we were getting the whole Costin family done for grandma Karen.
Kylee thought the waterfall was so amazing that she had to keep staring. No amount of silliness by grandma could get her to look up.
Okay, so in this one Andy looks kind of creepy, what with the staring eyeballs and all, but at least we were away from the water so Kylee finally looked.
This is what happens when you try to take a picture of the three grandkids. Conner and Branson decide to start a brawl...
Then Kylee gets scared and Conner attempts to come to the rescue. Notice there are no more photos after this one -- we gave up!!

Kylee's Growing Up!!

This is our little Kylee-poo sleeping in her bed. You know she's down for the night when her little baby bum pokes up into the air about a mile.
This is Kylee's new talent. Sitting up! She is getting really good at it, and when she topples over she doesn't even cry. (Even though sometimes the toppling happens in a face-planting kind of way).
Look at those baby thighs! But look at the arm pose too. She thinks she's a model.

I'm too tired...

The other day I went downstairs to do an excercise video that is about 45 minutes long. I left Kylee to play on her jungle mat, thinking that when she got bored I would bring her downstairs with me.
Instead, I could hear upstairs for the whole 45 minutes talking to her friends and hitting the rattle that hangs from the top. So when I was done I decided that I might as well take a shower while she was still playing.
When I got out of the shower I thought she was being a little too quiet, so I went to check on her again. She had decided to take a nap! She is such a good baby! She never even cried. She just got bored and fell asleep. I put a blanket over her and she napped there for about 1/2 an hour.
This morning I leaned Kylee up against our bed covers so she could see me while I did my hair. She had fun lounging. Then I heard her laughing...
She had rolled herself over and thought she was soooo funny! I really think she might be one of the happiest babies ever.
