Andy's New Bike

For awhile now, Andy has been wanting a new bike. I just laugh. He is still doing chemo and therefore still has no job, and with Andy still smoking up to 5 packs a day, the money sure goes fast. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago he called me up and was sooo excited because he found the bike he wanted, BRAND NEW on ebay for a great price. For those of you who aren't bike savvy, bikes have model years just like cars, and this was a REALLY good price. He promised me he would promptly sell his old bike. Since I made a bet with Andy, and everybody knows I always lose when I make bets, I gave in. This is what he got. Andy's brand-new 2008 Specialized Stumpjumper. Supposedly it will make him WAY faster (faster that Pat) and...I don't know what else. Faster is the important part.
**P.S. For those of you who have already read this post, and now notice the picture has changed...someone whose name starts with "C" and ends with "ONNIE" has to write THREE consecutive posts (one per week) before she is allowed to see a picture of Andy's bald head. I forgot. Therefore, the photo has been removed by Andy (who also added the part about Terra losing bets, in case anyone didn't get that already).

Say goodbye to the 2007 Specialized Epic! Since Andy buys so many bicycles, I also made him sign an agreement that he will not purchase a new bike for 4.5 years, (I said 5, he said 4...we compromised) beginning on Sept. 9, 2009. I will be keeping said signed agreement in a water-proof, fire-proof, Kylee-proof box so that in two years when he swears up and down that the agreement was for ONE point five years, and he is in desperate need of another new bike...I will have proof. Maybe I should get it notarized???!??

Swimming in the Kitchen

Yesterday Kylee was absolutely convinced that she needed to put on her swimming suit with her clothes. She knew right where it was, and brought it out to me. She was trying to put the straps over her head. I managed to distract her with some books, and I thought she forgot about it. I guess not! Today she harrassed Andy about it. She was SURE she needed to wear it, so when I got home from work I decided to let her put it on for awhile. She then proceeded to go "swimming" on the kitchen floor. Crazy kid!

After about a 1/2 hour I needed to change her diaper, but she wouldn't lay down or hold still until I promised I would put her "sim suit" back on afterwards. I guess she's practicing for the beach in 12 days. I didn't see the ocean until I was fourteen years old, and Kylee gets to spend a whole week there at 1 1/2. Lucky girl! The place we're staying in California is right next to Newport Beach, and is an HOA with tennis and a big pool as well. The weather is supposed to be really nice. I'm excited! I could definetly use a vacation, and since Andy finally got his central line out, and got a permanent port, he is actually going to be able to get in the water. Hooray! Thanks Karen for inviting us!

New "Bike" and Sleeping

This week Kylee got a new "bike", and she is scared to death of riding it alone. It's one of those little kid power wheels, and all she has to do to make it go is push the button.
As long as Andy or I pushes the button with her, and walks along beside her, she'll ride it up and down the street, but she won't do it alone. She prefers to push the bike around.

We figure at some point she'll decide that's it's not so scary after all, and then it will be fun!

The other day, Andy was tired, so he was laying on the couch in our front room. Kylee went and got a pillow and "blankie" for him, and put them on the tile. She said, "Daddy bed. Daddy night-night."

Fire-Woman Kylee

On the way home from the zoo, we stopped to visit Uncle Pat at the firestation in Holliday. He gave Kylee a plastic fire-woman hat, and a Junior Firefighter badge. She loved driving the truck the best. I had to drag her out so that cousin Branson could have a turn. She was ready to go out on a call!

Hogle Zoo

Last Saturday my mom invited Kacey and I to go to the zoo with our kids. It was a good day to go because it was pretty cloudy, which meant it wasn't too hot and the animals weren't all hiding away in the shade. Kylee liked the bears, the "pigs" and the giraffes. I think she still likes the monkeys the best though. They had a lot of baby animals at the zoo this time too, so that was fun.
