Catch-up #1

Ally at 4 weeks old. Still likes to sleep on the couch!

One day we went on a picnic to a park in Spanish Fork with my sister Tiff and my mom and Bruce. I'm glad that Kylee is willing to play with Skyler and not just run off and leave him!

After lunch we went for a walk along the river trail they have there. Kylee dropped her barrette on the bridge and it fell down between the cracks into the river. She was super upset about it until we showed her that it had sank to the bottom of the river and was stuck there, so next time we go we can look for it again. Then she thought it was kind of cool.

Skyler loved the river. He gets so excited about things like this. He just kept saying, "Whoa! Whoa!" as he stared at the water going by below him.

Ally felt like the walk was exhausting and pretty much slept the entire time.

Kylee loves to read, and can often be found lounging around reading a book. Andy keeps saying he is going to ground her from reading until she spends at least 1/2 hour per day playing video games first. I think he's got that backwards?

Skyler continues to fall asleep in weird places...

These are more photos of Ally at four weeks.

THREE weeks old!

I tried to take some pictures of Ally today for her 3 week birthday, and Skyler insisted on being in most of them. I can't believe she's already three weeks old. I feel like she looks a lot like Kylee did when she was a baby, so we'll see if she continues on that path as she gets older. She's been a really good baby so far, and we are super excited to have her.

Kylee's Teeth

In March Kylee lost THREE teeth. One on the bottom and her two front ones. Since her other bottom one is still trying to grow, she currently looks like she is missing 4 teeth. She was having a race with a girl in her class because when she lost the first front tooth she became tied for "most teeth lost" -- each having lost a total of 5 teeth. They both had a loose one, so the race was to see who could lose the 6th tooth first. A couple days later Kylee's came out. It's funny that kids even keep track. Her teacher has a "tooth club" list on the wall of their classroom that has all the months listed, and when you lose a tooth you get to join the tooth club for that month. Kylee was excited that she got to sign the list THREE times in March.

Ally - 2 Weeks!!

I can't believe how fast time is going! Ally really loves to takes naps on the couch, and she loves to have her hands up by her face when she is sleeping as well. When we put her to bed for the night we swaddle her up and make her sleep on her back, but once we are awake for the day we let her sleep on her side because that's what she loves. It doesn't look really comfortable, because she always has her back arched way back, but she doesn't seem bothered!

I took her to her 2 week appointment when she was about 2 1/2 weeks old, and she weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz., which is one ounce more than her birth weight, so she was good to go! They also measured her length a few times because she measured 21 inches, and it's pretty much impossible to have grown 1.5 inches since birth. We finally concluded that they probably measured wrong at the hospital when she was born, because she is definitely 21 inches long now!

Skyler

The other night I went to check on Skyler when i was going to bed, and he was asleep like this. I think Pat and Kacey will find that this photo looks familiar! Must be some weird Costin thing!

Skyler really loves to hold Ally. He asks to hold her at least once a day. Luckily he doesn't try to pick her up by himself yet, though.

One day I put her on a blanket on the floor and he laid down on the floor too, and then scooted closer and closer until he was right next to her. I LOVE the picture below.

And this is how he spends his time when Kylee is at school, Andy is asleep after working a graveyard, and I have stuff to accomplish. He gets the whole bean bag to himself and he lounges around watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movies.
