She Just Keeps Getting Bigger!!

I'm thinking that for Christmas we might just give Kylee boxes. She loves to climb on them, over them, in them, etc. They are far more interesting to her than her actual toys. Also...Kylee update: She now has FIVE teeth, with two more on the way. Her two front teeth grew in last week.
When I caught her climbing all over dad's shoe box, she looked at me with a guilty expression, like she thought she might be doing something wrong. It was really cute.
I've been trying not to introduce Kylee to sugar yet...but the other day I caught her red-handed...or brown-mouthed, helping dad eat his brownie.
This is a picture from this morning. Kylee was getting kind of grumpy, so I thought she might like to take a nap. Her blankie was hanging over the side of the crib, and Blue was leaning up against the bars at the top. I thought she might put up a fight about napping, but when I hadn't heard a peep out of her 5 minutes later, I went to look. She had gotten her blankie and Blue and snuggled up to fall asleep.

Another Day at a Different Lake

Last week Andy was at Scout camp all week down at Yuba Lake. They invited the YW and the families to come down on Saturday to play in the water. Notice there is not a picture of me on the tube. What can I say? Never trust a man with the camera. I managed to take about 10-15 good pictures of Andy, and he managed to take 1 blurry picture of me. Oh, well. At least I know I did it, and I'm told I was really quite graceful when I got flung off and flew through the air.
I'm thinking that someday when Kylee is old enough to talk she might tell me her thoughts on having her face all squished up in life jackets twice her size...but for now she can't talk, so all the better for us!

Kylee floated down the river with Andy and I on a double tube, and seemed to like that okay because she could just stare at the water going by. We didn't get any pictures of that because I don't have a waterproof camera. Then we took her on the boat in the afternoon (after her not having a nap all day).
I think she felt like her situation was pretty dire.

Eventually she conked out, life jacket and all. Then it started to rain, so grandma (who was the orange flag holder) held her with Andy's shirt keeping her dry. Overall, we had a lot of fun.

More Birthday Photos

So I always do this in the wrong order. I did the movie first, and then I forgot that if I do "More Birthday Photos" they'll actually show up BEFORE the movie. Oh well. Here they are anyway (from Conner's b-day party on Aug. 4)!

Kylee decided that if she wasn't going to get any presents, she would just claim the pretty green bow.

When Conner stole it from her she was not too happy, but politely asked him to give it back.

Then she thought she would just take it back, since it seems babies don't understand the concept of sharing.

Finally she decided she would have to take it back by force. She's never been one to lose a tug-o-war, so I think she thought this was her best option!

Laughing

The other day was Conner's birthday, and Grandma Karen threw a party for him at her house with yummy cupcakes and presents and everything. After the presents, Rachel and Richie started hitting a ball back and forth over Kylee's head, and she thought it was sooo funny! She was hysterical. If you listen really close you can hear her shrieking with laughter. I was kind of too far away for the camera to pick it up very well.

This was Kylee's first experience with carrots. So far, she loves every food we give her.

She does think she is big enough to eat it herself though, so it makes a bigger mess than when I just feed her and don't let her get the spoon.

Andy hates when I take close-up pictures, but I think they are cute, and Connie did say she wants to feel like she can see Kylee "face-to-baby-face."

One day when Kylee was practicing climbing up on the tile, I heard her start yelling so I went to look. She was stuck between the back of the couch and the tile. I'm not sure how she got back there in the first place. Needless to say, the couch is now scooted back to within an inch of the tile!

If you zoom in on this one, you can see two of her teeth. She just grew the 3rd one yesterday, so I haven't gotten a picture of it yet.

And here she is with her new shoes practicing standing up. She pulls herself up on everything now. The table, the couches, the cd player, the laptop (which is pretty funny because it's only about 1.5 inches tall, so she puts her hands on it and stands up, and then her baby bum just wags around in the air because she can't straighten up). She'll just stand there and look around at everyone for several minutes, then sit down and find something else to pull herself up on.
