Hiking the Y

This week we took Kylee and hiked up the Y. Andy insisted on carrying her the whole way up and back, which nearly killed him off. Sometimes I think his "fake" cancer is not so fake after all.
When we got to the top, Kylee stole my water bottle because she was just so thirsty after such a hard climb. She did walk the last couple of switch backs though, and they were pretty steep, so I decided I could go ahead and share with her.

The sunset was really pretty...and so was the city below. It doesn't look that high up when you're looking at it from below. Then you get up there and you can see for miles!

4th of July

Over the 4th of July weekend, we put down tile in Karen's new kitchen/dining room. I estimate between Thursday-Sunday Andy spent about 60 hours on it, I spent about around 40, Pat spent around 32, Karen spent probably 15-20, and Rick spent 5 or so. Overall, it was nearly a 200 hour tile job. After I caused nerve damage in my hand while screwing over 1600 screws into the cement board beneath the tile (it was REALLY hard)...I got the fun job of using the saw to cut the pieces to size.
When there wasn't anything to cut, my job was to sit there and hand Pat and Andy the tiles they needed next, so that the setting would go a lot faster. On Friday after we spent from 8am-2am working on it, I went home and dreamed, "BIG! BIG! LITTLE! BIG! LITTLE! LITTLE!" The hopscotch pattern turned out really nice though.

On Saturday morning, after Andy and I got a good 4 hours of sleep, Karen and Kacey and I went to run the Freedom Festival 5k in Provo. About .1 miles into it I was pretty sure I would die (my legs were REALLY tired from riding the MS 150 last weekend, and laying tile all day Friday). Plus, I've never been a good runner. Plus, I haven't ran at all in the last few months, except for a couple of weeks ago when I ran a 5k just to make sure I could even do it, since I had never ran more than a mile in my life. I decided about 1/4 mile into it that I would rather ride my bike 100 miles than run a 5k again. About 2 miles into I was sure I would keel over. But, we ran the whole way, sprinted to the end...and 5 minutes later decided it wasn't so bad and we'll go again next year. Pat made all three of us candy necklaces since this was our first "race".

A Little Spoiled

We went out to dinner a couple weeks ago with Andy's family. I had a strawberry lemonade, and Kylee thought she really wanted some. Finally, she decided to just help herself to my straw...while I was still using it! Notice Andy on the side...he thought it was soooo funny!

Walking in Mommy's Shoes

I've mentioned before that Kylee is crazy about shoes. She gets to the point where if someone comes to visit our house, and she thinks they have cool shoes, she will take them off their feet so that she can try them on. She's getting an early start on high-heels as well. She's actually pretty good at walking around in them. What's funny is that she actually knows whose shoes are whose. When we're getting ready to go somewhere, she goes and gets each individual person their shoes, and drops them at your feet so that you can put them on. Smart kid!!

Kylee Grows Pig Tails

In the last couple of weeks, finally Kylee's hair has started to get a lot longer in the back. She wears pigtails almost every day now, and we all think she looks adorable. It's about time she finally got some hair!
