Bye-Bye Binki!!

Triumph! Kid's binki is GONE! We've been trying to get rid of them for awhile (she's only ever been allowed to have one when it's naptime or nighttime), but our first attempt didn't go over well, and I caved. Andy got her to throw her favorite binki in the trash, and when bedtime came, she was very upset. She cried for about 10 minutes...and then found another binki hidden in her crib. We hadn't seen that thing in weeks! We thought it was long gone! She was so happy, we didn't have the heart to take it away. On Christmas Eve, we took her binki to my mom's house so we could make her take a nap in the afternoon. When I went to get it, I discovered that it was broken. She'd chewed the plastic part so much that it was about 1/2 way gnawed off. I showed it to her, we discussed that it was broken, and then she threw it away. 5 minutes later, when I told her is was naptime, she went to get it from the garbage. I told her again that it was broken. She only cried for about 5 minutes in her pack-n-play, then fell asleep. That night, we were worried. Last time was heartbreaking, and this time we KNEW there were no hidden binki's left in her crib. I took her in there, laid her down, and she said, "My binki go?" I said, "Remember Kid? It's broken. You threw it in the garbage." She said, "Broken?" I said, "Yep!". She kind of started to pout, so I thought fast. "Does Blue have a Binki?" "No," she said. "Does George have a Binki?" "No," she said. "Does your teddy bear have a Binki?" "No," she said. "So does Kylee need a Binki?" (I was SURE she would say "Yes"). "No," she said. And that was that. She went to sleep, and hasn't asked for it since. Hallelujah!!!!!!

Dance Practice

For Christmas, my mom got a bunch of new toys for the grandkids to play with when they come to her house. The See-N-Say was a big hit, because it sang "Old McDonald". Kylee and Sugi started dancing. Look at Kylee getting her groove on!!

Hoe-Down Showdown

Pretty soon, we had a full-blown HoeDown Showdown! This is how our family spends Christmas....

Look! A Smile! Merry Christmas!!
Kylee really liked her "fishies". I don't think she knows they are fake!

Mega Blocks

Kacey and I got out the Mega Blocks to try to entertain the kids on Christmas Eve while dinner was cooking, and ended up playing with them ourselves after the kids got bored and went upstairs to play. We decided to make Santa's sleigh, and then we made a reindeer to pull it. Who says legos are only for kids??
