Catch-up #3

I've slacked at updating our blog for over a month, so here are three catch-up posts, with #3 being the most recent and going backwards. Kind of a photo overload, but it is what it is!

This is Ally at 6 weeks old. Time goes by really fast!

Skyler got a new airplane shirt.

Still 6 weeks old, she likes to be propped up to sit on the couch.

Eventually she falls asleep.

Skyler and Kylee are now sharing a room so that Ally can have her own. Luckily Kylee is a REALLY deep sleeper, because Skyler goes in there at bedtime and plays for a LONG time some nights. I told Kylee to just face the wall and ignore him, and it works for her. She falls asleep quick and isn't bothered by him.

This is Ally at 6 weeks still. I love how she's starting to get her own little personality. She smiles a lot more, and isn't quite so spastic with her arm and leg movements!

Kylee's school did a walk-a-thon fundraiser to earn money for various things their school needs like computers, library books, art supplies, etc. She got pledges beforehand and then had to walk/run as many laps as she could on a 1/4 mile track in 1.5 hours. Grandma Karen came down to watch and participate, which was great. We got Kylee to jog most of the time, and she ended up getting 24 laps, which was 6 miles.

Skyler got bored towards the end and spent some time on the playground.

This is Ally at 7 weeks. She is finally staring to wear some of her 0-3 month clothes instead of newborn stuff all the time. She's such a tiny girl!

My sister Connie came to town for my sister Tiff's baby sealing and blessing, and we found this really cool place to take photos, so one evening we went up and she snapped a bunch of pictures of us with my camera. We got a ton of "bloopers" like the one above (one or more kids not looking, Ally screaming her head off, etc.), but we also got some good ones. The one below is not Andy's favorite one of himself, but it's the best one overall, so I really like it!

Catch-Up #2 - Easter, Soccer, Etc.

One day I was downstairs working, Ally was in her swing, and Andy was asleep because he worked a graveyard the night before. I suddenly realized I hadn't heard Skyler for a few minutes, so I went looking for him. Apparently he decided he needed a snack, because I found him sitting on the floor in the kitchen with this box of wheat thins he got out of the pantry. This kid eats SO MUCH FOOD! It's crazy.

Our neighborhood did an Easter egg breakfast and hunt on the day before Easter again this year. I practiced with Skyler at our house beforehand so that he would know that he is supposed to pick up the eggs and put them in his basket. He did pretty good.

Kylee was in the older kid group so she had farther to run before she could get eggs, and she started several minutes after the younger kids. The way they spaced it out, many of the eggs in her area were already gone by the time she and her friends even started, so she didn't get very many. Probably need to re-think the structure next year, but it was still fun!

These are Ally at five weeks old. Andy does not prefer the huge flower headbands, but I think they are cute so I put them on anyway!

This is what I find almost every morning. She usually doesn't get her arms out of her swaddle, but she kicks and kicks until her feet are out.

The Easter Bunny brought the kids minimal candy, but they each got a book, which is even better!

After church I wanted a photo of our family in our Easter stuff, so I set the camera up on auto-timer to do it. Andy was in a bad mood so we got exactly one chance. It didn't turn out great, but at least it's a picture!

Later in the afternoon I was folding laundry and Ally was grumpy, so I put her on my lap while I folded. She pretty much immediately leaned over and fell asleep. I guess she just wanted to snuggle her mama.

...And Skyler CONTINUES to sleep in weird places. Sometimes when he's not tired he lays behind the door and yells "Hello?!?" over and over. Eventually he falls asleep behind the door, and then it's kind of hard to get it open so that we can put him in bed.

Then there was the night I went to check on him and found this. It was at least 73 degrees in our house that night, but apparently he was expecting snow the next morning.

Kylee has been playing Salem Community soccer this Spring. She struggles to pay attention for the entire game, but when she does pay attention she does pretty good.

Skyler sits on the sidelines yelling "go! go! go ball, go!" the whole time.

Catch-up #1

Ally at 4 weeks old. Still likes to sleep on the couch!

One day we went on a picnic to a park in Spanish Fork with my sister Tiff and my mom and Bruce. I'm glad that Kylee is willing to play with Skyler and not just run off and leave him!

After lunch we went for a walk along the river trail they have there. Kylee dropped her barrette on the bridge and it fell down between the cracks into the river. She was super upset about it until we showed her that it had sank to the bottom of the river and was stuck there, so next time we go we can look for it again. Then she thought it was kind of cool.

Skyler loved the river. He gets so excited about things like this. He just kept saying, "Whoa! Whoa!" as he stared at the water going by below him.

Ally felt like the walk was exhausting and pretty much slept the entire time.

Kylee loves to read, and can often be found lounging around reading a book. Andy keeps saying he is going to ground her from reading until she spends at least 1/2 hour per day playing video games first. I think he's got that backwards?

Skyler continues to fall asleep in weird places...

These are more photos of Ally at four weeks.

THREE weeks old!

I tried to take some pictures of Ally today for her 3 week birthday, and Skyler insisted on being in most of them. I can't believe she's already three weeks old. I feel like she looks a lot like Kylee did when she was a baby, so we'll see if she continues on that path as she gets older. She's been a really good baby so far, and we are super excited to have her.

Kylee's Teeth

In March Kylee lost THREE teeth. One on the bottom and her two front ones. Since her other bottom one is still trying to grow, she currently looks like she is missing 4 teeth. She was having a race with a girl in her class because when she lost the first front tooth she became tied for "most teeth lost" -- each having lost a total of 5 teeth. They both had a loose one, so the race was to see who could lose the 6th tooth first. A couple days later Kylee's came out. It's funny that kids even keep track. Her teacher has a "tooth club" list on the wall of their classroom that has all the months listed, and when you lose a tooth you get to join the tooth club for that month. Kylee was excited that she got to sign the list THREE times in March.
